Reiki is Japanese for universal life energy. It is an old organic healing modality, born in the belief that anyone can learn how to clear, relax, balance and heal themselves and others by channeling the universal energy, Qi, that flows through and around every living thing.
Reiki is internationally recognised as an effective way to encourage the body’s innate healing system to come to life. It is known to relax tension, reduce the effects of illness, soften symptoms of trauma and give an overall sense of well being.
Dr. Mikao Usui (1865-1926) developed the Art of Usui Reiki out of his recognition that ultimately we are all responsible for healing ourselves, and that being well and in balance is first of all a matter of attitude and receptivity. People, he realised, may be ill because they worry, because they are habitually angry and resentful, or because they perceive themselves as separate from the rest of life or deny their feelings and needs.
Research shows that all beings and all matter has an electromagnetic field that surrounds them. As beings living between the sun (electric) and the earth (magnetic) we are electromagnetic conductors of these two forces. Energy healing are healing modalities where a clients energy and energy field is balanced and harmonised with the support of and through the practitioners energy and energy field.
